William J. Acker

William J. Acker of Roslyn, PA, passed away on August 15, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Catherine M. (née Boland). 

Born in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Bill attended St. Benedict’s Grade School and Cardinal Dougherty High School.

Loving father of Bill (Annie), Christine Predjulek (Steven), Tom (Lori), and Brian (Kris). Brother of Frank Acker and Margie Joseph. Proud grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 6.

He battled cancer fiercely and enjoyed many years as a survivor. Bill was a devoted caregiver to his wife Cathy during her illness. While his kids were growing up, Bill voluntarily coached CYO and intramural basketball at St. John of the Cross in Roslyn, PA. He was an avid bowler and tennis player, lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, and enjoyed time at his Pocono house in Towamensing Lake Trails. Above all, he was deeply devoted to his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Rd, Jamison, PA 18929. Friends are invited to the visitation at the church after 10:00 AM. Interment at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
