Born on February 6, 1961, Tom grew up in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where he formed many lifelong friendships and developed the strong sense of family and community that would define his life. He could often be found playing basketball at the York Avenue basketball court in Lansdale, and for the North Penn Knights during his high school years. He later made his home in Maple Glen, where he lived until his passing.

Tom was a devoted father and is survived by his two children, Meghan McDermott, 29, and Matthew McDermott, 28, both of whom were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard McDermott and William McDermott, along with their families, whom he loved dearly.

Tom was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He treasured time spent with loved ones, whether gathering for holidays, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other's company. A passionate sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching football and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.

Known for his friendly nature and easygoing spirit, Tom also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Fireside Bar & Restaurant, where he shared countless laughs, conversations, and memories over the years. His warmth, loyalty, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who loved him. A loving father, brother, uncle, and friend, Thomas Paul McDermott's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
