Sylvia P Gwynn (nee Rocca), passed away on February 5, 2026 (just 5 days prior to her 92 nd birthday). Sylvia was the loving wife of 68 years to William A Gwynn Sr. who preceded her in death in 2023.Sylvia was the loving mother of William A., Jr (Ellen), Stephen A. (Carol), Cynthia M. Sorensen (Takay), Kathleen T. Gallagher (Daniel), Patricia J. Labrador (Philip) and the late Susan P. Gwynn-Miley (Ken). Sylvia is survived by 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Sylvia was born and raised in Philadelphia, and graduated from Little Flower High School Over her lifetime she lived in northeast Philadelphia, Chalfont, North Wales and East Norriton. In addition to raising her 6 children she worked for a number of companies including Bell Labs (AT&T) and Springhouse Corporation in administrative roles.
Sylvia was an avid traveler (Europe, Asia and across the US). Recently she enjoyed activities at Brightview Senor Living including Bocci ball, cards and happy hour at the Pub.
Sylvia actively supported her children. She enjoyed both leadership and assistant roles in Cub Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts. Sylvia was also an active volunteer for St Jude's Church in Chalfont, Doylestown Senior Center and Doylestown Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 12 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church 1325 Upper State Road North Wales, PA 19454. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) or Serenity Hospice Care (Bensalem PA office) .
