Stephen J. Oriold, 92, passed away on September 7, 2026. Husband of Henrietta M. (nee Opferman). Father of the late Donna Cunningham (surviving spouse, Bob), Vicki Zawadowycz (Dan), Maria Shields (Michael McMillan), Tina Melvin (Pat), and Stephen M. (Kathy). Grandfather of Caitlin (Dustin), Carlee (Chris), Brooks, Bradley, Jack, Michael and Liam. Great grandfather of Peyton.

Steve graduated from Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia, PA with a degree in drafting. He continued his technical education over the years including computer aided design.

Steve served in the Army from 1954-56, and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington, Oklahoma, and witnessed A-bomb testing in Desert Rock, New Mexico.

Steve worked at Honeywell for over 40 years. He started at the Brown Instrument Division in Philadelphia and moved on to Fort Washington, PA where he worked as Manager of Engineering Technical Services for the Process Control Division.

Steve loved his family and friends and he loved his country. Steve and his wife, Hennie, were married for over 37 years, and shared many adventures and hobbies. His favorite holiday was Christmas Eve celebrating at home with the family all together.

Favorite hobbies included traveling throughout the United States, Caribbean, Europe, and especially The Big Island of Hawaii, where Steve and Hennie were snowbirds for over 20 years, enjoying “abundant sunshine” and ALOHA. He loved sailing and was a long-time member of the Bay Regional Mariners Sailing Association on the Chesapeake Bay. Additional activities included tennis, jogging, backpacking, skiing, going to the gym, and keeping up with the latest and greatest in technology and scientific advancements.  Steve also really enjoyed classical music, opera, and a glass of fine wine!

Over the last two years, Steve appreciated his new home and new friends at ACTS Normandy Farms Estates Retirement Community in Blue Bell, PA.
