Maureen Pokorny

Maureen Pokorny (88), formally of St. Helena's Parish in Philadelphia and graduate of St. Mary's Academy passed away July 13, 2021 in the loving presence of her family.  She is survived by her beloved children Bill (Eileen), Matthew (Debra), John, Denise (Steve), Kathleen (Gerry), and Victoria (Tom); 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Maureen lived a full life dedicated to faith and family.  She spent many years volunteering with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, as well as the Cardinal Dougherty High School band.  She also volunteered in the Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish as a Eucharistic Minister, lector and in the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Maureen retired from Temple University and was a passionate sports fan who rarely missed a Phillies game.  She supported Catholic and military charities and lived a life of prayer.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Monday July 19, 2021 at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA where her viewing will begin at 10 AM.  Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
