Following completion of high school, she graduated from Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and then worked for many years as a dedicated, selfless and compassionate hospital Nurse and home care Nurse and provider. She retired from Nursing in the early 1990’s and enjoyed the time with her husband traveling to see her family and friends, and always searching for the next good book to read.
Louise enjoyed many beautiful experiences during her 95 years of life while being a wonderful and loving wife to her husband John and compassionate caring mother to her two sons, ‘Tommy’ and ‘Johnny’ and their respective loved ones. Lousie loved swimming, the beaches of Ocean City, the slot machines in Atlantic City. She loved family get togethers at her parent’s beautiful home in Fort Washington, PA and then ‘Grammy’s house in Ocean City, NJ. She also really enjoyed chilly Autumn/Winter nights while walking her and Tom’s dogs, a warm fire in the wood stove on the porch, talking to and reminiscing about her parents and 8 siblings and her nieces/nephews. She enjoyed a strong Manhattan cocktail with a cherry before dinner while dining out, fresh peaches and sliced strawberries in the morning, and reading a good book to fall asleep by.
Louise will be remembered for her generous warm caring heart, giving nature and her devotion to her husband and her two sons and their families. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, VA on a future date to be determined.
