Leamon P. Harrington of Chalfont PA died July 28, 2026, at home at the age of 71. He was born in Norristown, PA, to Virginia May and Joseph X. Harrington Sr.. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Smith), son Andrew, his brother Joseph X. Harrington Jr, (Maryann); his sister-in-law Maureen Kuntzmann; his brother-in-law Terrence Smith (Denise) and his dear friends whom he has known throughout most of his life, John LaValley and Stephen Duntze. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and their families.

Lee graduated with a master’s degree in social studies secondary education from Arcadia University, and degrees from Trenton State College, and Buck County Community College.

Lee also did student teaching and some substitute teaching for Central Bucks and Souderton school districts in their social studies department.

Lee worked as a quality control inspector for several different companies throughout his career, including SPS Technologies, Laboratory Testing Inc, Neptune Chemical Co., and John R Bromiley Company in Chalfont. He always said that being a QC inspector made him the most unpopular person in the plant, but he had a very keen eye and would find the most obscure fractures in parts. He always wanted to do the best for the customer, especially considering the critical nature of the parts that often went into airplanes or complex machinery. Lee didn’t care about cost – the parts had to be 100% perfect to go out the door before he would put his stamp on it.

Lee has had a lifelong love of American History and has hundreds of books in his library. He also had a great love of archeology and ancient Egypt and ancient world history in general.

Lee enjoyed his travels with his family, including Ireland where he investigated the roots of his ancestors. He visited many of the different National Parks, and battlefields. He has visited Gettysburg many times and studied the battle in depth.

Of all the things Lee loved, he loved playing the banjo the most. During a prolonged hospital stay earlier this year, he told his family that he just wanted to go home and to get a chance to play music with his friends one more time.

A life celebration will be held at 11 AM Monday August 3, 2026, at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home, 175 E. Butler Ave., Chalfont PA 18914.   Guests received after 10:00 am for the visitation on August 3, 2026. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery, New Britain, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Judy Nicholson Kidney Cancer Foundation, or any animal rescue of the doner’s choice.
