Kathleen M. (Hallman) Rhoad, age 69, passed away on February 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she devoted her life to. She was born on August 15, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Kathleen Hallman.
Kathy was the beloved wife of Jeff Rhoad, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. Together, they built a family grounded in loyalty, responsibility, and caring for one another.
She was a devoted mother to Meghan (Kevin) Sanders, Christopher Rhoad, and Lauren Rhoad. Her greatest joy, however, was being Nana to Madelyn, Declan, and Abigail Sanders, the true light of her life. No matter the challenges she faced, Kathy showed up for her grandchildren—at games, events, and milestones—cheering from the stands or from her wheelchair, making sure they always knew she was there. Being present mattered deeply to her, and she proved that time and time again.
Kathy was a nurse not only by profession, but by nature. Caring for others came instinctively to her. Throughout her life, she supported people through their hardest moments with compassion, strength, and determination. She was a fierce advocate for those she loved and never hesitated to speak up when it mattered.
At home, Kathy believed in responsibility and doing things the right way. Weekends often meant cleaning the house from top to bottom, including the baseboards. While it wasn’t always appreciated at the time, her family now understands the lessons she was teaching pride in one’s home, attention to detail, discipline, and the value of hard work.
She had a deep love for dogs, the beach, and trips to Lancaster with her husband, simple joys that brought her peace and happiness. She was generous, caring and always aware of the needs of others.
Kathy is survived by her loving mother, Kathleen Hallman; her brother, Joseph Hallman; her sister, Peggy Hallman; her brother, Andrew (Brenda) Hallman; her mother-in-law, Pat Rhoad; her sister-in-law, Amy Oattes; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Hallman; her sister-in-law, Suzanne Hallman; and her father-in-law, Robert Rhoad.
She will be missed deeply and remembered always for her strength, her devotion to family, and the unwavering way she showed up for the people she loved.
The family will receive guests on Monday, February 16, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests for donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, a testament to Kathy’s compassion for others.
