Grant Lee Sergeant ended his 92 year long journey peacefully at home with his family on April 30, 2025. Grant is survived by his wife Suzanne "Suzie" (nee Whitticar) of 64 years. Debbie Sergeant (Ron Winters) and Martha Robertson (Warren). He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher Hunsberger (Erin), Beth Ann Maiuro (Brandon), Katherine Micca (Gabriel), Justine Picciotti (Dustin) and Grant Robertson as well as 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers David, Bruce and Luther and his great grandson Oliver Picciotti.
Grant was born in the original Doylestown Hospital to Katharine Reutlinger Sergeant and Robert Gayley Sergeant. He grew up in Gardenville. He attended Doylestown High School and then graduated from Williamson Trade School in 1953. He then served our country for 2 years in the Army before beginning his 37 year career with Bell Telephone.
He was a member of the Doylestown Masonic Lodge #245 for 61 years serving as a Master in 1970. He also served as a Deacon at Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church. Grant enjoyed patrolling his neighborhood in his motorized wheelchair. Coffee on Friday at Hances Radiator Shop and Saturday Breakfast were his weekly ritual. He also had many hobbies such as metal detecting, counting change, doing word search’s , watching westerns and youtube videos.
Grant and Suzie travelled to all the contiguous United States, with their travel trailer in tow. North Dakota was the only state missed and they can't explain how!
