Francis Xavier O’Connor (“Frank”) passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Frank is survived by his six children: Mary Novick, Kate Meade, Peggy Every (Ron), Patty Feher (Philip), Nancy Walsh (Joe) and John O'Connor (Theresa); 17 grandchildren: Brian (Allison), Lindsay (Mike), Christopher (Collyn), Scott (Jordan), Shane (Stephanie), Rae (Ryan), Meghan (Larry), RJ (Shayne), Dan (Carly), Kevin (Karen), Michael, Patrick, Shannon, Bridget (Phil), Maggie, Casey (Landon) and Kyle; 17 great-grandchildren: Colin, Dillon, Finley, Elizabeth, Emma, Evalynn, Audrey, Anthony, Lucas, Owen, Ellie, Charlotte, Madi, Grace, Ava, Evelyn, and Gabriel.; and brothers Bernie (Lily) and Barry. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ellie, and his brothers Bill and Bob.
Born in Philadelphia on December 5, 1931, Frank was the eldest son of Frank and Mary (Cunningham) O'Connor. Raised alongside his four younger brothers, he grew up in Lawncrest, where he developed lifelong friendships and the values that would guide him throughout his life. A graduate of North Catholic High School, Frank attended LaSalle College before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard. His service took him from Cape May to Ellis Island to Washington, D.C., where he met his beloved Ellie, with whom he raised six loving children and created a life filled with faith, family, traditions, and joy.
Frank taught accounting in the night division at Lasalle College for many years. He enjoyed a long and successful career in accounting, beginning with Philco and continuing with Ford Motor Company. His career eventually brought him to Michigan, where he held senior leadership responsibilities before retiring in 1990 as the Controller of Central Accounting for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. Following retirement, Frank and Ellie returned to Pennsylvania where they were surrounded by their growing family and lived the best chapter of their lives.
As with every aspect of his life, Frank embraced retirement, becoming a dedicated parishioner and volunteer at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church; an enthusiastic golfer; an avid traveler, and a loving pop-pop. In his later years, Frank wrote a memoir entitled Wonderful Memories: A Thanksgiving to God, Country, Family, & Friends. Through its pages, he preserved the people, places, adventures, and friendships that shaped his extraordinary life. More than a collection of memories, the book was an expression of gratitude for the blessings he received and the family he loved so dearly.
Frank O’Connor was a man of unwavering faith, simple pleasures, deep humility, and a profound appreciation for the beautiful life he lived.
The family would like to thank the team at The Bridges at Warwick and Ascend Hospice who surrounded us with love and comfort during these final days and helped make Frank’s journey home as beautiful as he deserved.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at 9:30 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
