Elizabeth K. Snyder

Elizabeth K. (Betsy) Snyder died peacefully on December 1, 2018. She must have loved her age of 29, since she kept it for 57 years.

Betsy was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Wyncote, PA. She loved gardening, dancing, going to the beach, and getting a bargain, especially at thrift stores. She worked a variety of jobs, including Business Office Supervisor for Bell Telephone and Associate Acquisitions Editor for Springhouse Corporation.

Her biggest commitment in time and energy was as mother to Mary Steinmetz and Nana to Alicia Steinmetz. Betsy was the youngest daughter of Curt and Bella (Costello) Kuehmstedt. In addition to Mary and Alicia (Matthew Shafer), she is survived by one sister, Anna May (Pat) O'Donnell.

Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Betsy's life at 12 PM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Scanlin Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave, Chalfont, PA where the greeting will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private.

Betsy loved flowers and strongly believed they were for the living, not the dead. If you want to honor her by sending flowers, please send them to someone who does not often receive flowers or plant a flowering tree or bush in her memory. If you prefer a donation, please consider the USO at www.uso.org or St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org . Betsy's favorite color was pink - she loved all shades of it. We would appreciate it if you could honor her by wearing pink on the day of her funeral, whether you can join us or not.
