Obituary

Eizabeth G Gendall, 98, of Line Lexington, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was born on October 22, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Isabelle and Matthew Glasgow. She was also the wife of the late Gilbert H Gendall, Jr.

Betty graduated from Frankford High School in 1944. After graduation Betty went on to work in a bridal shop in Philadelphia where her first job was to cover the buttons for wedding gowns, then she moved on to making the gowns.

The family later moved to New Britain and Betty continued working in the city; taking the train from Chalfont. They started attending Chalfont Methodist and this is where she met and married the love of her life. Children soon followed and Betty became a homemaker responsible for five active kids.

Betty loved being outdoors going for walks and tending to her gardens. She was an avid gardener creating beautiful flower beds and abundant vegetable gardens. Reading, word searches and cross stitch kept her busy. Her true passions were baking and crocheting. Betty always had fresh baked goods in the house with some of her most cherished being her cookies and pies. Crocheting baby blankets, bibs and baby doll clothing was a gift that brought joy to her as much as the recipient.

The two most important values in her life have always been faith and family. Chalfont Methodist Church had provided her a spiritual home and many opportunities for service. Betty had served countless dinners, helped with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, contributed to bake sales and rummage sales, participated in senior groups and had attended church faithfully for her entire life. At the time of passing, Betty was the oldest original member of the church.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Nancy Venetz (Pat) and Barb Eyrich (Jim); daughters-in-law Deb Gendall and Cindi Gendall as well as her son Rich Gendall. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chris Eyrich, Heather Schantz, Jess Schwartz (Paul), Kevin Gendall (Kim), Ryann Loch (Zach), Brittany Eves (Bryan), Jamie Lindsay (Brandon), Casey Venetz and Patrick Venetz. She was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Betty will now join her beloved Gil, sons Steve and Rob and the rest of her siblings and their spouses: Edith Koehler (Earle), Dorothy Bauer (Harry), Donald Glasgow (Anne), Marian Simmers (Danny) and Ellen Cox (Joe).

Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday March 31, 2026, at Chalfont United Methodist Church 11 Meadowbrook Lane Chalfont, PA 18914.  Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at the Church Tuesday after 10 AM.  Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chalfont United Methodist Church at the address above.
