Obituary

Diana Gay Urban (née Stanislaw), 80, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, beginning at 11:30 AM at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914. A celebration of life will follow at 12:30 PM. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories during the service.

Diana was the beloved wife and best friend of the late David Urban. Together, they built a home in Hilltown, where she resided for more than 50 years. She was a devoted mother to Andrew (Ily) and Jason (Holly), and a loving grandmother to Lyla and Paloma. Diana and David enjoyed camping and traveling across the country to visit their grandchildren.

She found great joy in tending her garden and watching the birds—especially bluebirds and hummingbirds—at her many feeders. Diana grew up in Rockledge alongside her two brothers, David and Denny. As a teenager, she traveled to watch her grandmother perform in the Broadway version of Plain and Fancy and other regional theater productions. Inspired by her grandmother, Diana acted in several community theater productions, where she met David, who was building the sets. Later, when her children were in elementary school, she produced several school plays and formed a lifelong friendship with her co-producer.

Diana began her career as a lab technician at Philadelphia General Hospital and later worked as a church secretary and bookkeeper. Over the last 30 years of her life, she dedicated herself to volunteering with cat rescue organizations—caring for shelter cats, fostering kittens, building cat shelters, and opening her home to the rescues most in need.

In honor of Diana’s commitment to animal rescue, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Cat Shack (thecatshack.rescuegroups.org), where she volunteered for more than 20 years.

She will be remembered for the life she built with David, the love she shared with her family and friends, and the many cats she welcomed into her home and heart.
