Brenda A. O'Brien

Brenda Ann O’Brien peacefully passed into eternal life with our Lord, surrounded by her family, on June 2, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on December 6, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, to Jacob Mayer and Irene Pattenaude, along with her late brothers Jack Mayer (Catherine) and Kenneth Mayer (Marion). 

At the age of 12, Brenda entered the Catholic orphanage, Saint Joseph Gonzaga, in Germantown, and graduated from Saint Hubert’s High School in 1958. 

Brenda was the devoted wife of the late Vincent O'Brien, whom she married in 1963. Together, they lovingly raised ten children: the late Joseph, Vincent (Kimberly), Patrick (Susan), Brenda (Robert), Kelly (John), David, Kimberly (George), Daniel, Mary (Michael), and Shawn. Brenda was also blessed with 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. 

Brenda and Vincent raised their family in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia and were devoted parishioners of St. Ambrose Church. In 1989, they moved to Doylestown, PA, and became members of St. Jude Church and Shrine in Chalfont, PA. 

Brenda’s life was defined by her deep love and dedication to her Catholic faith and family. She fostered a warm and loving home for her children and was always there to support them. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was known for her strength, kindness, wisdom, and gratitude. 

She loved baking and cooking. Brenda also enjoyed shopping and going on long walks. Above all, Brenda cherished her role as a mother, embracing it with unwavering love and devotion. She treated everyone with respect and dignity and left a lasting impact on every life she touched.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing, which will begin at 10:00 am, and Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM, on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Jude Church and Shrine, 321 West Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA. to In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made The Dominator Foundation, a charity named in honor of her grandson, Dominic, which supports special needs students.
