Obituary

Betty Lou Martin, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026.

Betty Lou was the beloved daughter of Paul and Helen McClain and devoted Mother of Richard Martin (Diane), Luann McVaugh (Michael), Randy Martin (Marianne), Ronny Martin, and Robby Martin (Sue). She is also survived by her dear sister and best friend Beverly Dupuzzo, along with 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.

Betty was the heart of her family—a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She spent her life caring for her children and later became a constant source of love and support for her grandchildren. She lovingly provided childcare for all 18 of her grandchildren and continued that role for many of her great-grandchildren, caring for them daily well into her 80s. She truly never stopped caring for and thinking about her family.

She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel special, seen, and deeply loved. Her nurturing spirit, strength, and selflessness defined her life.

Betty also had a wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter and comfort to those around her.

Her cooking was one of the many ways she showed her love. Family gatherings were never complete without Mom-Mom’s signature dishes—her sauce, baked ziti, potato salad, and chicken and wine, among many others. Everything she made had a special touch that simply couldn’t be matched, and her meals will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them.

Above all else, Betty loved her family. Her loving and sweet nature, her unwavering care, and the warmth she brought into every room will be missed beyond words.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and visiting the casinos, where she found fun and excitement, often sharing those moments with loved ones.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society
