Beatrice M. Barr passed away at her home on December 11, 2025, at the age of 101.  She was born on October 7, 1924, to Harry and Alice Swartley and was beloved wife of the late Edward J. Barr.  Beatrice was preceded in death by her daughters Loretta Clift and Pamela Westphal but is survived by her daughters Beverly Spotts (Richard), Candace Errickson (David), Noreen Yodoff (Steven), and Marlene White (Richard), along with 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

A lifelong resident of Chalfont, Beatrice graduated from Lansdale High School in 1942.  She was an active member of St. James' Lutheran Church, where she served as the parish secretary for several years.  Following the closure of St. James', she joined Lenape Valley Church in New Britain.  

In 1967, Beatrice was appointed assistant secretary of Chalfont Borough, later becoming secretary- treasurer.  In 1991, she became the Borough's first manager, serving in that position until her retirement in 1998.  During her time with the Borough, she was involved in the acquisition and development of three community parks, the transformation of the former Chalfont National Bank building into the present Borough Hall, the restoration of the Chalfont Train Station, the "Chalfont Challenge" 5K races, the celebration of the Borough's 75th anniversary, and the Victorian Street Lamp memorials.  

Since 1984, Beatrice has been known for her beautiful, themed Christmas trees.  At the time of her passing, more than 30 trees and numerous Christmas Villages filled her home.  Many of her friends and relatives have fond memories of visiting her festive home during the holiday season.  

A Celebration of Life for Beatrice will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lenape Valley Church, 321 West Butler Avenue New Britain, PA 18901.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM and the service at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Enright Foundational Ministries, 1919 Jackson Lane, Port Orange, FL 32128 (specify Kafakumba Christian School) or to Lenape Valley Church.
