Barbara Francis (Hammond) Miracle of Chalfont PA, born Sept.8, 1927 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Nellie Hammond, passed away at age 91 on November 20, 2018 in Perkasie, PA. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Harvey Donald Miracle. Barbara was exceedingly proud to have been born a Canadian and though her mother was of English decent, Barbara would only lay claim to her Scottish heritage. She loved to tell of how she rented a kilt and bag pipe once to wear. Barbara was a loving and faithful wife to Harvey, moving with him wherever was needed. From Canada their first move was to Michigan, then Kentucky, then Pennsylvania, then to Virginia for exactly one year before finally settling back in PA. While serving on the mission field in KY Harvey and Barbara traveled east to see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. They then traveled down the coast, six children in tow, to camp at Cape Hatteras, NC. The Outer Banks became a favorite yearly retreat, and Barbara continued to vacation with her adult children there, long after Harvey passed. She was amazingly resourceful, always making do with what was available and keeping a lovely home. Barbara loved gardening, tending her property, walking, reading her bible, reading and watching biographies, listening to music-from Tom Jones to Bocelli- and visiting with her very large family in both Canada and the United States. Barbara had a close circle of female friends that were a great source of comradery and comfort, as was her church family. She worshiped at Calvary Chapel Bucks County. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Dale Miracle; daughter, Rebecca Rambo; brothers, James and Bernard Penrose; sisters, Violet Dipple, Thelma Johnson, Evelyn Weiden and Ella Steinberg; niece, Edna Mae Steinberg; and nephews, Carl Steinberg and Orville (Donna) Steinberg. Barbara is survived by her sons Donald (Charlene) Weston, Robert (Laura) Miracle, Wayne Miracle, James Miracle, and John (Joan) Miracle; daughters, Constance (Richard) Bremer, Kim (Gary) Stefus, and Barbara Miracle (Rich Mullen); brother, Ken Penrose; sister, Elaine Penrose Wooley; and nephews, Gerald Steinberg (Sheila Duke), Orion (Lucille) Steinberg, Geraldine Steinberg, 28 grandchildren (Rick, Kirsten, Becky, Chris, Shannon, Amber, Jenniah, Justin, Tonya, Lauren, Greg, Heidi, Wendy, Rob, Courtney, Victoria, Tiffany, Antonia, Wesley, Thea, Michelle, Melissa, James, Lindsay, Willem, Taylor, Evan and Meghan), 44 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren. Friends and family members are invited to attend the memorial service on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Visitation starts at 10 AM, memorial service to follow at 10:30 at Calvary Chapel Central Bucks, 150 E Butler Ave, Chalfont, PA 18914.
