Myrle F. Hager

Myrle Frances (Welsh) Hager a longtime Doylestown resident passed away on January 11, 2018.  She was 91.  She was the beloved wife of the late G. Clyde Hager.

Myrle was born in Philadelphia on December 23, 1926 to Kathryn (Hess) and Edward Welsh.  She was the youngest of four daughters and attended Germantown High School graduating in 1945.

Myrle spent her working life in retail sales: beginning at Dewees Department Store in Philadelphia, and after moving to Doylestown: Jack’s Linen Store, Musselman’s Department Store and Anne Bailey’s Bridal Shop.  She had an eye for fashion for herself and assisting others.  She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed entertaining, knitting, cross-stitching, indoor gardening and quilting.  She was an avid letter writer, loved receiving cards and continued messaging with Facebook on her iPad. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ

Myrle is survived by her five children:   Nadine Nagurny (William) Quakertown, PA, Denise Hager Lancaster, PA, Michele Taylor (Randy) York, PA , Kyle Jones (Alan) Felton, PA and Jeffrey Hager (Libby) Beach Haven, NJ.  She was Mom Mom to 14 grandchildren who she always made feel special:  Kristen Nagurny Haugen (Clifford), Kara Nagurny Thoman (Anthony), Erin Taylor Edwards (J), Lindsay Taylor Hoffman (Travis), Ryan Taylor (Adrianne), Justin and Eric Zimmerman, Colin, Ian and Megan Jones, and Brittany, Jaimee, Kaeli, and Rylea Hager.

In addition she was Gigi to 10 great grandchildren:  Clifford, Aidan, Landon, Mason, Margaret, Eleanor, Liam, Adley, Finn and Heath. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Worthington of Delaware.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
