Mary K. Boucher

Our mother, Mary Kathleen Parker McCullough Boucher (Young) passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2019 in her bed at Elm Terrace Gardens. She was surrounded by her three daughters and her trusted aid and friend, Dee. She was 92.

Mary was born on December 18, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where she spent her early life. She attended University of Western Ontario, receiving her degree in home economics. Mary went on to teach for several years before having her own cooking show in Detroit in the early 50s. It was in Detroit that she met our father, Archibald Michael Parker. They went onto marry and had five children together, but divorced after 15 years. In 1967 she married her second husband, Orlando Mitchell McCullough. They were married for 10 years before his untimely death at the age of 48. She then married Gerard Armand Boucher in 1986 to whom she was married for 31 years.  After retirement, they moved to Ocala, Florida, where they soaked up the sun, played golf, and after 20 years returned home to Chalfont, PA.

Mary is survived by four of her five children. Sheila Parker Thoder (Joseph), Steven Parker (Michelle), Susan Parker Clifton (Bill), Ann Parker Davies (Brent), fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her last husband, Jerry, she was predeceased by her son David Edward Parker, on whose birthday she died.


Friends and family are invited to attend her viewings 7-9 PM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Scanlin Funeral Home 175 East Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA and 10:15-11 AM Saturday January 26 at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave, Chalfont, PA where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) at
